Meet the Team

  • Jesse Scott, M.D.

    Dr. Jesse Scott is from Reidsville, Georgia and is a 1987 graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy. After completing high school, he attended Georgia Southwestern University in Americus, GA and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1991. He then completed his Medical Doctorate degree at the Medical College of Georgia (now Augusta University) in Augusta, GA in 1995. Following medical school, he moved to Savannah, GA for a residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial Medical Center (now Memorial Health) which he finished in June of 1998. He then returned to his hometown of Reidsville to begin private practice. The following year, in 1999, he joined Southern Medical Group where he has practiced for most of his career. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is actively involved in the community.

    He currently serves as Chairman of the Evans County Hospital Authority, Vice Chairman of the Evans Memorial Hospital, Inc. Board, Chairman of the Evans County Board of Health, Volunteer Medical Director at the Paul Anderson Youth Home in Vidalia, GA, and a member of the Ogeechee Area Hospice Board. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians, Medical Association of Georgia, and a lifetime member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Additionally, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at the Mercer University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Scott and his wife of 26 years currently reside in Hagan, GA, and they have 4 children. In his spare time, he enjoys walking, hunting, working on the family farm, and spending time with his family.

  • Paul Thompson, M.D.

    Dr. Paul Thompson is a native of Glennville, Georgia. He graduated from Glennville Christian Academy and then with honors from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 2002 and completed his residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia in 2005. Dr. Thompson is board-certified in family medicine and joined Southern Medical Group in 2005. He is now co-owner of the practice while he continues to provide compassionate care to patients in the Glennville office. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Association of Family Physicians. Dr. Thompson and his wife have homeschooled their five children while also being actively involved in their community and church, where he serves as an elder. He also serves on numerous boards within his community including the Tattnall County Board of Health, the Tattnall County Board of Ethics, and the Glennville Recreation Department’s Board of Directors. In his free time, Dr. Thompson enjoys coaching his children’s recreation leagues and running.

  • Kelly Daus, PA-C

    Originally from Enterprise, Alabama, Kelly Daus PA-C is a graduate of the University of South Alabama, where she earned a master’s degree in biomedical science. She began her career by practicing family medicine in her home state of Alabama but later relocated to Georgia. Kelly joined Southern Medical Group’s Glennville office in 2010. Kelly is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Georgia Composite Medical Board. She is also a certified medical examiner with the Department of Transportation. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. Kelly and her husband David have four sons and have resided in Glennville for over ten years. Tattnall County quickly became home for the Daus Family who regularly participate in Tattnall County school events, as well as church activities in Tattnall and Evans counties.

  • Jessica Huggins, FNP-C

    Jessica is originally from Glennville, GA. She graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2013 and then attended Armstrong Atlantic State University, earning her bachelor's degree in nursing in 2016. Following graduation, she worked as a registered nurse in the medical-surgical unit at East Georgia Regional Medical Center for four years. In 2019, Jessica obtained her master's degree in nursing from Georgia Southern University and became board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, of which she is now a member. Her goal was to return to her hometown and offer compassionate healthcare to her community, which she achieved in 2020 when she joined Southern Medical Group in Glennville. She is also an advisory member on Tattnall County High School’s Career and Technical Advisory Council. Jessica lives in Glennville with her husband and three children and enjoys spending time with her family at the coast and participating in church activities at First Baptist Church of Glennville.

  • April McBroom, FNP-C

    April is a native of Reidsville, Georgia. She graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2010. She continued her education at Armstrong State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree in 2017. April began her career as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's/Candler Health Systems in 2017.While working as a night-shift bedside nurse, April continued her education at Clayton State University and earned her master’s in nursing in 2021. She is board-certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In 2023, April accepted the opportunity to return to her community of Reidsville to provide care for the employees of Canoochee EMC at the Southern Medical Group Occupational Health Clinic. April resides in Pooler, GA with her husband and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and going to the beach.

  • Suzannah Williamson, NP-C

    Suzannah is a native of Glennville, Georgia. She graduated from Pinewood Christian Academy in 1997 and later attended Georgia Southern University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food science. While training to become a dietitian, she realized that her true calling was to nursing. After graduating from South Georgia College in 2004, she began her career as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Candler Health System in the neuroscience unit. Here, she cared for patients with a variety of disease processes and injuries and worked alongside physicians and other healthcare professionals from many specialties. After 3 years as a staff nurse, she was asked to fill the position of resource coordinator, a role that required her to manage the day-to-day operations on the busy 21-bed neuro critical care unit. During this time, she began to further her education by attending Georgia Southern University’s advanced practice nursing program, and in 2011, she graduated with a master’s degree in nursing. She obtained her board certification as a family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She joined Southern Medical Group in 2013 and sees patients in the Claxton office. Suzannah and her husband live in Glennville with their two daughters. Suzannah is active in the Glennville community. She was appointed to the Glennville Economic Development Authority in 2024. She is also a member of the Glennville Arts and Cultural Society, Glennville Chamber of Commerce, and Rotary Club of Glennville. She and her family attend Cornerstone Bible Church where she helps lead the young adult Sunday school class. Her favorite pastimes are cooking, reading, and attending Georgia Southern Football games.

  • Carla Collins, FNP-BC

    Carla Collins, FNP-BC is a native of Cobbtown, GA where she lives with her husband and three children. She graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2001. Carla continued her education at Georgia Southern University and obtained a Bachelors Of Science in Nursing in 2005 and continued on to graduate with her Masters in Nursing in 2017. Carla started her career in healthcare while still in high school as a nursing assistant at Glenvue Health and Rehab. She has worked in long term care, acute care, psych, and primary care prior to joining Southern Medical Group. Her passion is providing quality primary care for her home community.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with family camping at the lake or on the beach.
